Online casino platform developer SkillOnNet came onto the scene in 2005 and have grown substantially since then, offering a turnkey solution complete with over 1,200 games and CRM, Retention, Processing and Payments support. They currently power over 30 online casinos including PlayOJO, DrueckGlueck, EUcasino and Slots Magic. I was hired by them to write a wide variety of promotional materials for both B2C and B2B.

SkillOnNet B2C: Emails

I wrote many emails and newsletters for SkillOnNet’s various white labels, like the ones above. The layout of these emails was set, providing limited space for the copy. Although this was a challenge on some occasions, it was one I overcame consistently, resulting in increased open and click thru rates. The short game descriptions attracting players to new releases were particularly enjoyable to write, which was also reflected in their uptake with players.

SkillOnNet B2C: Social Media

With the increase in popularity of social media making it an effective marketing channel, I was increasingly tasked with creating copy for various platforms such as Facebook. In the above case, I wrote a Facebook post for a promotion run by DrueckGlueck, a German-facing casino, offering players the chance to have their video appear on the casino’s Sport1 TV channel spot. I also wrote Facebook posts for new games as they were released, which contributed to increased player activity.

SkillOnNet B2B: Presentation

In addition to producing B2C copy for SkillOnNet, I was also tasked with creating various B2B materials, including the above presentation. The copy for targeting businesses rather than customers is often very different in nature, with what’s important to the prospective client at the forefront of these communications.

In a collaborative effort, I wrote most of the article featured above, specifically the sections detailing the Ninja Master gameplay, which appeared in an edition of iGamingBusiness Magazine. Again, being B2B facing, the copy had to be tailored to the audience, with a focus on performance, availability and popularity. This article contributed to the successful uptake and player activity of this new game.
